INTEGRATED PERFORMING ARTS GUILD (IPAG)

The MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT)
recognizes the Culture and Arts as one of its pillars. Starting as a vocational school in Iligan City in the Southern island of Mindanao, it expanded into offering professional courses, first in the Sciences and Technology, then in the other disciplines. Today, it is working on the Philippines’ first Culture and Arts Studies Program. Through its cultural arm, the Integrated Performing Arts Guild (IPAG), the Institute has implemented short-term courses in the last 36 years in the various disciplines of the performing arts: directing, dance and choreography, playwriting, arts administration, technical direction, and design, basic performing arts, among others. Besides offering formal classes in Stagecraft and Drama, the Institute is also the base of training in other disciplines like creative writing, popular music, and choral music.

IPAG’s long years of training and craft enhancements have established principles in pedagogies most notable among these are Transcreation and, in its development stage, Distillation.

The MSU-IIT, where the IPAG is resident cultural group, has been rated the best university outside of the Philippine capital of Manila.
