Hoseo University was founded in 1978 and covers 3,065,000 . Hoseo University has 6 colleges with various divisions and majors. There are 3 campuses located in Asan, Cheonan, and Seoul with about 15,831 students, 422 faculty members, 640 lectures, and 107 staff members. About 500 international students from more than 20 different countries study and prepare for their future on the campuses. Hoseo University currently has an agreement with 104 universities in 24 countries.

Based on the conviction of the university founder Seok-kyu Kang, that the growth of a nation depends on its technological process and venture business know how, Hoseo University has established itself as an international center for venture business activity and expertise through the development of human resources and cutting edge technology, which will lead the university, the region, and the nation on the path of prosperity.

Theatre Studies.
 
The Department of Theatre Studies offers an array of programs that allow undergraduate and graduate students to study theatre in both performance and academic contexts. The Department, founded in 1997, offers a BA and MA in theatre arts. The BA program involves undergraduate students in practical and theoretical activities to produce qualified theatre specialists. The MA program is designed to train graduate students for practical performances as well as giving them a critical, theoretical, and historical education. This is in line with our policy of providing the widest-possible spectrum of educational and training opportunities to future artists and scholars. All faculty members are active in both teaching and artistic or research activities.
