The Department of Drama & Theatre at Universiti Sains Malaysia is the oldest, finest and highly established performing arts school in the country.  The Department of Drama & Theatre is different because our approach towards arts is holistic, inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary; transcending mere beauty and functionality.  Our experience in the dramatic and creative performing arts begins with our commitment to providing you with a variety of enriching courses that explores your imagination, excites your artistic senses, stimulate your aesthetic perceptions thus enabling you to step out and unleash you artistic talents in this fast growing and highly competitive arena.  Recognising each student’s diverse creative potentials, we prioritise in nurturing, harvesting, molding and shaping these exciting talents.  The Department of Drama & Theatre is a platform for individuals to explore diverse and bold artistic forms, styles, exchange ideas, discover and search for their artistic identities.  To inspire and guide you in your artistic path and future endeavors, The Department of Drama & Theatre has assembled a line of well experienced theater scholars, art practitioners, industry-honed art professionals, young academics and researchers and hands on technicians.  We take pride in the forging of artistic energies between the young blood and the experienced minds that constantly allows thought provoking explorations, reflecting our immersion in between the worlds of traditional forms and our contemporary state.  The Department of Drama & Theatre provides a thorough grounding in areas that are key to theatre and performance.  Our niche areas are Acting, Directing, Script Writing, Arts Management, Dance, Creative Movements, Scenography, Traditional Theatre, Children’s Theatre and Community Theatre.
