Press Conference and Opening Ceremony of University Russian Theatre Festival and Release of Modern Russian Plays

As part of the Russian Year in China 2009， a press conference and opening ceremony of University Russian Theatre Festival and release of Modern Russian Plays was held in Fo Xi building， in the afternoon of November 23rd.

Sun Huizhu，vice president of STA，Huang Guiying， deputy director of STA Party Committee Office ， and reporters from news and media Agencies such as， Xinhua News Agency，China Education Press Agency， Wenhui Bao，Xinmin Evening News，Shanghai People’s Radio Station. The conference was presided by Zhang Shengquan， head of Information Department of STA Party Committee，who  informed the media agencies about the opening ceremony of the festival，i.e.，University Russian Theatre Festival，and the release of Modern Russian Plays were two events of the Russian Year  in China 2009， co-hosted by China’s Ministry of Education and Russia’s Education Department. The festival is organized by Shanghai Theatre Academy from November 28th to December 27th.

Main activities include a press conference of Modern Russian Plays， which will be attended by Виктория В. Никифорова， one of playwrights presented in the collection， and Sha Jin， the book’s 81 year old translator， six productions presented by STA’s teachers and students and one by students from other universities， a roundtable discussion on China-Russia Theatre Exchange; a Lecture on Modern Russian Theatre by Ms. Виктория В. Никифорова， and a Russian film showcase. All plays in Modern Russian Plays are translated into Chinese for the first time.
