After discussion of STA academic committee and approval of STA heads, Shanghai Theater Academy officially granted Dr. Hans-Georg Knopp the title of Honorary Professor. At 10:30 a.m. this morning, the granting ceremony was held in the conference room in Fuoxi Building. Heads of STA, Prof. Han Sheng, Prof. William Sun and other directors of related departments were present at the ceremony. The conference was chaired by Vice President Prof.William Sun.
In the conference, Prof. Han Sheng, Vice President (in charge) of STA, delivered a speech showing gratitude towards Dr. Hans-Georg Knopp and the guests present. On behalf of STA, Vice President Prof. Han Sheng granted a Honorary Professor certificate to Dr. Hans-Georg Knopp. Dr. Hans-Georg Knopp delivered a speech showing gratitude towards STA and bestowed the certificate of bestowing the statue of Brecht and many precious theatrical research materials (copyright royalty included) on STA.
There are four STA honorary professors at present. They are Prof. Richard Schechner of New York University, Prof. Koishi Shimpachi, Vice President of Musashino Art University Japan, Prof. Corneliu Dumitriu PhD, Chairholder of UNESCO-ITI Chair and the famous Chinese artist Mr. Mei Baojiu. Dr. Hans-Georg Knopp is the fifth honorary professor of Shanghai Theater Academy.
