Famous Producer Mr．Philip＇s Lecture The Management of Opera Houses in Germany 11/11/2008

 

Mr. philip Broking, the experienced theatre manager and famous producer in German opera circles came to Shanghai Theatre Academy to deliver three lectures for the teachers and students of STA through October 20 to 26，2008．

Mr. philip Brokingis Opera Director of the Komische Oper Berlin．He is responsible，amongst others，for the management of the opera house and production of performances．The Komische Oper Berlin is one of the top three opera houses in Berlin．

The three lectures helped the students understand the operation，management and form of performance in German opera houses．In the lectures，Mr. Philipintroduced the history of German opera houses and how to manage a German opera house．He also talked about the importance of marketing in the theatre and opera house management．He cited many examples to introduce successful marketing in theatre management．Many students asked questions about how to work as a successful theatre manager and got helpful advices from Mr. Philip．
