Director of the Dresden Film Festival Delivering a Lecture in Shanghai Theatre Academy 08/12/2008

On the morning of yesterday，Mr．Robin mallick，Director of the Dresden Film Festival delivered a lecture in Red Building of STA．

While attending the activity of German Best Short Film，Mr．Robin mallick had a pleasant talk with Prof．Fang Fang and her students from STA．Prof．Fang Fang invited Mr．Robin mallick to give a lecture in STA．Mr．Robin mallick readily accepted the invitation though he had to leave Shanghai in twenty hours．
Although propaganda of this lecture was impossible，the lecture attracted so many students from College of Television Arts that Room 205 was full of students sitting and standing．

During the lecture，Mr．Robin mallick first mentioned that there has been great interest in short films these years and short films have gone through an innovation in aesthetic concept．Dresden Film Festival，the short film festival with the highest prize in Europe，is celebrating its 20th birthday in 2008．It has the characteristics of facing the public．The aim is to gather films and artists from all over the world to talk and communicate，thus providing the young directors with opportunities to develop．Besides，Mr．Robin mallick introduced the regulations and process of applying for the participation in Dresden Film Festival and the process of selecting．

Then Mr．Robin mallick introduced other film festivals in Germany such as Munich Film Festival，Potsdam International Student＇s Film Festival and Berlin Across－Media Film Festival and their features in detail．For example，he mentioned Potsdam international Student＇s Film Festival was hold not only for the students of film but also by the students because it was one of their courses．Mr．Robin mallick also introduced other international film festivals which favor young directors．

At the end of the lecture，Mr．Robin mallick played four of the excellent productions which had won awards in the past Dresden Many students present said they learned a lot in the two－hour lecture．Mr．Robin mallick expressed his hope to see the excellent productions of students from STA in Dresden Film Festival．
