Japan’s renowned director gives lecture in STA 29/04/2010

On May 5^th, Japanese film director Kazuo Hara will give a lecture on “Style and Impact of documentary film” in Red Building, STA to improve the mutual understanding, a review of Kazuo’s documentary films will be held in Room 212 at 9am May 5^th.

 

Kazuo Hara is widely considered as another mile stone of Japanese documentary film after Director Ogawa Shinsuke, whose works contribute significantly to documentary and film study. All students of STA are welcomed to attend the lecture.

 

This lecture is part of Shanghai’s “documentary film production” lecture series.

Kazuo Hara, visiting professor of Literature Dept. Waseda university, a key figure of Japanese documentary film industry, is well know for his capture of stunning social topics and impressive film language. He has won numerous awards for best director and ranked 2nd of Kinema Junpo’s  “Best director of the 80s”.
